About this calculator

Because a Marla is not the same size everywhere in Pakistan, you can pick the standard that matches your plot: 272.25 sq ft (revenue), 250 sq ft or 225 sq ft.

Formula

Square feet = Marla × size of 1 Marla

Revenue standard: Square feet = Marla × 272.25

A Marla is a fixed number of square feet under each standard, so the conversion is a single multiplication.

272.25 sq ft comes from the traditional definition of 1 Marla as 30.25 square yards (30.25 × 9 = 272.25).

Important information

  • This calculator uses 1 Marla = 272.25 sq ft by default — the traditional revenue standard. You can switch to 250 or 225 sq ft, which some housing societies and development authorities use.
  • 1 Kanal is always 20 Marla, so the size of a Kanal changes with the Marla standard: 5,445 sq ft (272.25), 5,000 sq ft (250) or 4,500 sq ft (225).
  • Always confirm which standard appears on the allotment letter, fard or society file before buying or selling.
