Example rate. Divide the total of your last bill by the units used to get your real rate.

Result

Rs 5,940 / month

Refrigerator (average draw): 108 units/month ≈ Rs 5,940

Cost per hour of use
Rs 8.25
Daily cost
Rs 198.00
Yearly cost (same usage)
Rs 71,280
  • Air conditioners, fridges and freezers cycle on and off, so average draw is lower than the label maximum. Inverter models vary most with temperature and thermostat setting.
  • Tariffs change with slabs, fuel adjustments and taxes, so check your latest bill for your actual rate per unit.

Formula

Units = Watts × Quantity × Hours × Days ÷ 1000

Cost = Units × Rate per unit

Presets use typical average running watts; check your appliance's label for a better figure.

Examples

  • Refrigerator

    Refrigerator (average draw): 108 units/month ≈ Rs 5,940

  • Iron, 30 min/day

    Iron: 15 units/month ≈ Rs 825

  • Desktop computer, 6 h/day

    Desktop computer: 36 units/month ≈ Rs 1,980

Important information

  • Electricity tariffs in Pakistan change often and depend on your DISCO (LESCO, IESCO, K-Electric, MEPCO, etc.), monthly slab, protected/unprotected status, fuel price adjustment and taxes. That is why the rate is always an input — pre-filled with an example of Rs 55 per unit.
  • To find your real all-in rate, divide the total amount on your latest bill by the units consumed.
  • Since 2026, domestic bills also include a fixed monthly charge based on sanctioned load (kW), in addition to the per-unit charge — add it as a fixed charge in the bill estimator.

Frequently asked questions

Which appliance uses the most electricity at home?

In Pakistani summers it is almost always air conditioning, followed by water pumps, fridges/freezers and irons.

Does an inverter AC really save electricity?

Usually yes — inverter ACs adjust compressor speed instead of switching on and off, often using 30–50% less energy in steady use.

Does leaving devices on standby use power?

A little — typically 1–5 W per device. Many devices on standby all day can add a few units a month.

How much does it cost to run a fridge per month?

A typical fridge averaging 150 W uses about 108 units a month. Multiply by your rate per unit — at Rs 55 that is roughly Rs 5,900.
