Monthly Electricity Bill Estimator

Know your units for the month? Estimate the bill by adding energy charges, fixed charges and an allowance for taxes.

Updated

kWh
PKR/kWh

Example rate. Divide the total of your last bill by the units used to get your real rate.

PKR
%

GST, electricity duty and other levies, as a rough percentage of the bill.

Result

Rs 19,250

Estimated bill for 350 units: Rs 19,250

Energy charges
Rs 19,250
Effective cost per unit
Rs 55.00
  • Protected/unprotected status and slab rules can change the per-unit rate sharply around 200 and 300 units.
  • Tariffs change with slabs, fuel adjustments and taxes, so check your latest bill for your actual rate per unit.

Formula

Energy charges = Units × Rate per unit

Taxes = (Energy + Fixed) × Tax %

Bill = Energy + Fixed + Taxes

The effective cost per unit (bill ÷ units) is the number to use when judging savings from solar or efficient appliances.

Examples

  • 200 units

    Estimated bill for 200 units: Rs 11,000

  • 500 units with 15% taxes

    Estimated bill for 500 units: Rs 31,625

Important information

  • Electricity tariffs in Pakistan change often and depend on your DISCO (LESCO, IESCO, K-Electric, MEPCO, etc.), monthly slab, protected/unprotected status, fuel price adjustment and taxes. That is why the rate is always an input — pre-filled with an example of Rs 55 per unit.
  • To find your real all-in rate, divide the total amount on your latest bill by the units consumed.
  • Since 2026, domestic bills also include a fixed monthly charge based on sanctioned load (kW), in addition to the per-unit charge — add it as a fixed charge in the bill estimator.
  • Slab benefits for low-consumption 'protected' households may be lost if consumption crosses a threshold, so a few extra units can change the rate on the whole bill.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my electricity bill?

Multiply units by the rate per unit, add fixed charges, then add taxes and duties. Rates depend on your slab and DISCO.

What is fuel price adjustment (FPA)?

A per-unit charge or credit that passes changes in fuel cost to consumers, often applied a month or two later.

Why did my bill jump even though units rose slightly?

Crossing a slab threshold can increase the rate on all units, and seasonal adjustments can be added.
