Important information

  • All outputs are estimates for planning. Real results depend on variety, sowing date, soil, water, weather, pests and management.
  • Default prices and costs are examples only — replace them with this season's prices from your local market and dealers.
  • 1 maund = 40 kg. Areas can be entered in acres, kanal (1/8 acre) or hectares.

Frequently asked questions

What is the biggest cost in wheat farming?

Fertilizer is usually the largest single input cost, followed by land preparation/labour and irrigation.

Should land rent be included?

Yes if you lease the land. If you own it, you can still include an opportunity cost to compare crops fairly.

How do I lower cost per maund?

Raise yields with timely operations and balanced nutrition, and avoid unnecessary sprays or excess fertilizer.
