Wheat Profit per Acre Calculator
Work out the profit on your wheat crop, including the value of wheat straw (bhoosa), which is often a meaningful extra income.

About this calculator
Every value is pre-filled with an example and can be changed. Add land rent (theka) if you farm on leased land, and by-product income if you sell straw or stalks.
Formula
Revenue = Area × Yield (maund/acre) × Price (PKR/maund) + By-product income
Total cost = Area × (Seed + Fertilizer + Sprays + Labour + Irrigation + Other + Rent)
Profit = Revenue − Total cost
Break-even price = (Total cost − By-product income) ÷ Production
The break-even price tells you the lowest grain price at which you would not lose money.
Examples
1 acre, default values
Estimated profit: Rs 48,500 on 1 acre (Rs 48,500 per acre)
10 acres at default values
Estimated profit: Rs 485,000 (4.85 lakh) on 10 acre (Rs 48,500 per acre)

Important information
- The government support price for wheat (when announced) and open-market prices can differ widely — use the price you expect to actually receive.
- All outputs are estimates for planning. Real results depend on variety, sowing date, soil, water, weather, pests and management.
- Default prices and costs are examples only — replace them with this season's prices from your local market and dealers.
- 1 maund = 40 kg. Areas can be entered in acres, kanal (1/8 acre) or hectares.
Frequently asked questions
How much profit per acre on wheat?
It depends on yield, price and costs. Use the calculator with your own figures; at the default values it shows the profit for a typical irrigated acre.
Should I include bhoosa (wheat straw)?
Yes, if you sell it or would otherwise have to buy fodder. Enter its value per acre under by-product income.
What is a break-even price?
The price per maund at which your income exactly covers your costs. If the market price is below it, you make a loss at your expected yield.
Should I include my own family's labour?
For a true picture of profitability, yes — value family labour at what you would pay hired labour.
