CGPA to Percentage Converter

Many forms ask for a percentage even though your degree shows a CGPA. This calculator gives the simple proportional conversion (CGPA ÷ maximum × 100).

Updated

Result

85%

CGPA 3.40 / 4 ≈ 85% (simple proportional method)

  • Universities and employers may use their own conversion formula. If your transcript or university states one, use that instead.

About this calculator

There is no single official national formula. If your university, HEC equivalence or the employer specifies a formula, use that instead.

Formula

Percentage ≈ CGPA ÷ Maximum CGPA × 100

This is a straight-line approximation. Because grade bands are not evenly spaced in percentage terms, the result can differ from your actual average marks.

Examples

  • 3.4 out of 4

    CGPA 3.40 / 4 ≈ 85% (simple proportional method)

  • 3.0 out of 4

    CGPA 3.00 / 4 ≈ 75% (simple proportional method)

  • 4.2 out of 5

    CGPA 4.20 / 5 ≈ 84% (simple proportional method)

  • Some universities print a percentage equivalent on transcripts — always prefer that figure.
  • For admissions and jobs, check whether the institution wants CGPA, percentage, or both.
